Missions In Mexico

CrossWorld Strategy

Strategy at CrossWorld begins with team. The emphasis on team puts those who live in and understand the local culture in a decision making position for their ministry. It also allows them to care for each other as well as step through doors of opportunity that open suddenly.

Together the teams approach their strategy in a three dimensional way - upward, inward, outward. Upward is the worship aspect. If we are going to call the nations to worship Christ, we must have a passion for His glory and be committed to prayer. Inward focuses on the team’s need to extend mutual care. We live and work in community as we live out the “one another” passages of Scripture. The priority here is the heart of each individual. Outward is the strategic part of the team ministry. This is the place where we seek God for specific direction, goals and methods for accomplishing His work.

Puebla is a city of 2.5 million and growing. It’s projected that it will increase to 6 million by 2015. CrossWorld is forming teams to meet this opportunity. Their plan is to begin a series of 25 or so actively reproducing churches. Principles that are highly valued in the process are: prayer as a primary ministry tool, strategic design, NT churches that recognizes the difference between Biblical forms and cultural patterns, keeping the “End View” in sight so that missionary participation ends at the 4th generation.

CrossWorld believes that Mexican believers are best suited to win their countrymen to Christ. They see their main emphasis in equipping disciples according to the 2 Timothy 2:2 passage, “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.” Because of this approach no method or tool is used that the Mexican church cannot use with their own resources.

Evangelistic studies focus on heads of households, believing that once fathers are won to Christ they will in turn reach the remainder of the family. New congregations meet in homes until the need arises to begin a new house church or until the church itself decides to find another location.
